Family gravity water purifier

What it does

• Pour water in the top; clean water comes out of the tap below
• Removes bacteria, parasites and viruses, according to LifeStraw
• Holds a 12-litre batch of dirty water at a time
• Works with no electricity and no pump

How to set it up

1. Unpack it and read the leaflet; rinse the dirty-water container.
2. Assemble the stand, hang the container and connect the hose to the filter.
3. Fill the top with water and let it flow through to flush the filter, as the manual describes.
4. Run a full batch and throw away the first flush water.
5. Test the tap and the backwash bulb, then dry it and store it in its box.

Storing and looking after it

Backwash it as the manual says when the flow slows. Keep it from freezing once it has been wet.
